At State House Entebbe, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni hosted a meeting with a delegation from Tanzania.
The President and the visiting group talked about possible future energy cooperation between Tanzania and Uganda during the discussion.
The power line from Mutukula to Mwanza was the main topic of the energy discussion, and both parties expressed confidence that it will accelerate the growth of the two nations.
Additionally, President Museveni gave the go-ahead for the development of a 20 megawatt solar power facility in Northern Uganda’s Nwoya area, close to the Olwiyo substation.
Thereafter, there won’t be any more electricity problems in that area, he continued.
Mr. Abdul Halim Hafidah Ameir, Mr. Abdallah Khamis Khaliki, Mr. Michael Songore Raphael Mjinja, and Mr. George Nkya were the delegates present.
Ruth Nankabirwa Ssentamu, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Development, also attended the conference.
