According to State Minister of Finance (General Duties) Henry Musasizi Ariganyira, the government intends to pave the 47-kilometer Hamurwa-Keerere-Kanungu route with asphalt.
at addition to serving as the chairman of the Rubanda District NRM and the East MP for Rubanda, Hon. Musasizi delivered a speech today at Ms. Maricela Kanjenyenka’s farewell ceremony at Mukadongo Village, Mpungu Parish, Hamurwa Subcounty.
At the age of 102, the late Kanjenyenka passed away. In addition to 68 great-grandchildren, she had 28 grandchildren.
“We intend to pave the road from Hamurwa to Kihiihi in Kanungu with asphalt in the near future,” stated Musasizi.
Additionally, he disclosed that UGX 500 million had been used by the government to fix the damaged portion of the road at “Hakagyezi,” and an additional UGX 3 billion will be used to fix the damaged section of the Kabale-Kisoro road at Hamurwa.
According to Stephen Kasyaba, the chairman of Rubanda District LC.5, they have already begun using the UGX 1.5 billion that they recently received from the Central Government for road maintenance, including Rwondo-Nyakatare in Hamurwa Subcounty. He added that the Kashongati-Nyamasizi road, which is still located in the Hamurwa Subcounty, will receive the following renovations.
“We have also been conducting some road work in Ruhiija Subcounty, where the tractor you saw at Rwondo is from. We are currently beginning work at Rwondo,” he stated.
According to Kasyaba, the idea was to make it simple for individuals to get their trade goods and agricultural produce to the market hubs.
