Uganda Baati and E-Trade Association Work Together to Improve the Convenience of E-Commerce

Recently, Ron Kawamara, the Board Chairperson, and Ricky Rapa Thompson, the President of the E-Trade and Startup Association of Uganda, held conversations with Uganda Baati, a well-known supplier of building solutions. These discussions were primarily focused on investigating possible joint ventures for e-commerce projects with the objective of augmenting customer value and experience.

Uganda Baati’s Head of Marketing, Macklean Kukundakwe, highlighted during the conference the company’s innovative role in integrating e-commerce into the steel industry. In order to spur innovation and expedite the supply of services and products, Kukundakwe emphasized the importance of continuous engagements, which eventually benefit customers.

In order to meet changing client expectations and adapt to the shifting industrial landscape, the steel sector must take proactive measures, as stated by Macklean, demonstrating the company’s dedication to staying at the forefront of developments in the industry.
Prominent businessman and SafeBoda co-founder Ricky Rapa praised Uganda Baati for its proactive participation in the E-Trade and Startup Association. In order to effectively handle market difficulties, he emphasized the significance of e-commerce startups being collectively represented and pushed for increased cooperation between politicians and industry players.

Head of External and Corporate Affairs at Uganda Baati Ian Rumanyika stated, “We aim to foster a mutual learning environment by leveraging the expertise of established e-commerce startups through regular interactions, incubation programs, and collaborative innovation projects,” underscoring the company’s dedication to utilizing its half-century of service experience in Uganda.

Ron Kawamara underlined the association’s function in offering a helping hand to fledgling businesses, as well as in promoting information sharing, skill development, and representation in interactions with different stakeholders. Among the well-known startups under the association’s jurisdiction are SafeBoda, Watu, Glovo, Tugende, and Watu.
