Buyende District: In a significant development for Uganda’s water transportation, the MV Bukungu—Kaberamaido—Kagwara 1 has been ceremonially launched into the waters of Lake Kyoga. The launch, also known as “flotation,” is a crucial naval safety test in marine engineering, marking an important step before the vessel begins its sailing operations.

The MV Bukungu—Kaberamaido—Kagwara 1 is a state-of-the-art ferry designed to enhance transportation across Lake Kyoga. With a capacity to carry over 300 passengers and more than 20 vehicles per trip, the ferry is set to be a game-changer for the region’s transportation infrastructure.
