Construction Is in Progress at Karuma Bridge Expansion Joint Installation. The expansion joints are presently being fitted into the bridge deck’s steel bars by the team. After finishing this, the group will surround it with concrete to properly anchor the parts. Among other things, these joints enable the bridge to safely expand and contract in response to temperature variations and to absorb vibrations from high traffic loads.
Grant agreement worth JPY19.988 or UGX488.32 billion for construction of a new bridge at Karuma signed between Hon. Minister of Finance and the Japanese Ambassado.
