The Buganda Katikioro On Wednesday, Charles Peter Mayiga advised the residents of Bunyoro to take advantage of the oil and gas discoveries in the area and increase their incomes as he wrapped off his three-day visit to the Bunyoro sub-region.
According to Mayiga, people should engage in modern, commercial agriculture so they can offer food to businesses and make investments in value addition.
He said that in the Buliisa districts, all of the people impacted by the Tilenga project were given decent homes that could accommodate them.
To ensure that the construction is completed on schedule, Mayiga stated that it is important to support the oil and gas businesses working on the Kingfisher and Tilenga project.
He said that it was encouraging to see so many Ugandans working in Bunyoro’s oil and gas industry and urged young people to pursue vocational training to prepare them for employment in the oil business.
