Henry Musasizi, the state minister of finance, says that the 134kv substation will supply all the electricity required for manufacturers, removing any barriers for business owners who are reluctant to establish their operations in the region.
Minister Musasizi stated that President Museveni’s three-day regional visit in Kigezi involves the commissioning of the substation, whose construction is now complete, but he did not specify the precise day on which the president will commission the transmission line.
We anticipate that the substation will provide all of the electricity required by the factories. Those who wish to establish industries here can do so without more justification, Minister Musasizi declared.
This action is thought to be a major step in encouraging the Kigezi Sub-region’s industrial growth and development.
Local companies and entrepreneurs will now concentrate on growing their operations, generating employment, and bolstering the local economy thanks to the enhanced electricity supply.
