In collaboration with Exhibitions & Trade Services India PVT Ltd (ETSIPL), the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development will host the Power and Elec International Expo in Kampala, Uganda, in 2023.
The Expo is set to take place in the UMA Show Grounds Multipurpose Hall in Lugogo from July 13–15, 2023. At the trade fair, more than 100 exhibitors are anticipated from a number of nations, including Uganda, India, the UAE, and the UK.
Leading exhibition promoter and organizer ETSIPL is based in India and manages more than 50 events annually all around the world. To advance the sector and explore unexplored potential in Uganda, it organized the Expo in Kampala.
In order to display the most recent developments and technologies and to facilitate business-to-business interactions, the international Expo will bring together national and international stakeholders in many power sector domains. Importers and exporters, dealers in energy, electrical, electronic, electro-energetic, renewable, and solar products, HVAC and service providers, as well as end consumers, are among them.
Speaking to reporters at the Media Center on Wednesday, Uganda’s Permanent Secretary for Energy, Ms. Irene Bateebe, stated that although the country has experienced a boom in the energy industry, there are still some difficulties. For engagements with the sector participants, important decision-makers from government ministries, departments, and agencies have also been invited.
“The Expo is an opportunity to enhance interaction with domestic and international companies and provide a comprehensive platform to enable the growth of the energy sector in Uganda,” says Ms. Irene Bateebe, the ministry’s permanent secretary.
“The business community in this sector have a chance to showcase technologies but also discuss key policy challenges, such as how to close the technological gaps and the national innovation systems required to foster technological progress,” she said.
The Power and Elec International Expo 2023, with the subject “Connect with the Power, Energy, Electrical, Renewable and Solar Industry of Uganda,” will emphasize the promotion of cutting-edge technology, raising awareness, and developing long-lasting partnerships in the energy industry.
Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA), National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), Uganda Solar Energy Association (USEA), and Uganda National Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Alliance (UNREEEA) are some of the local organizations that are sponsoring this international expo.
The Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) have all provided support for the organization of the India Pavilion at the expo. Eastman Solar, UAE is the exhibition’s Gold Sponsor, and Korica Uganda Limited is its Silver Sponsor.
