An aviation expo organized by the Uganda Professional Pilots Association (UPPA) will be held at Entebbe International Airport from June 22–24, 2023. In order to demystify the aviation business and arouse the interest of a new generation of aviation enthusiasts, Uganda CAA has joined UPPA in support of the Aviation Expo, which will feature a number of events targeted at teaching and engaging the general public.

Giving students and the general public useful career advice and information is one of the Aviation Expo’s main goals. Attendees will get the chance to study many facets of the aviation sector and acquire insights into potential career pathways, according to UPPA Chairman Capt. Ssentamu Aziz.

Members of the public can take joy rides over Uganda’s skies for a reasonable charge of 200k for regular flights and 300k for VIP flights, which will help them make lifelong memories and spark an interest in aviation, according to Capt. Ssentamu. According to Mr. Fred K. Bamwesigye, Director General of the Uganda CAA, the Aviation Expo would give the general public the chance to interact closely with aircraft. The public will be able to enter static aircraft exhibitions, converse with the cabin and flight crew, and obtain first-hand understanding of aviation operations. Additionally, the occasion presents a rare chance for a select few lucky people to experience their first flight.

The legacy of earlier aviation events in Uganda is built upon by the Aviation Expo. The nation marked its 50th anniversary of independence in 2012 with a lavish air show called Fly @50 for 50k. A total of 2,100 partygoers had the opportunity to fly for the first time. This time, the event is not entirely sponsored, thus UPPA will be supported in providing a top-notch experience by charging reasonable entry and flying expenses.

The Aviation Expo offers a chance to narrow the gap between the general public and the aviation industry. Similar activities will be held at several airfields across the nation in the future.
