The ICT sector is thought to be the primary driver of the country’s socio-economic boom, with an exceptional average growth rate of 14.8% and a 9% contribution to GDP.

Alupo added that this strategy is an important step toward ensuring that Uganda has a successful future, noting that the youth represent the future of every country, including Uganda.
“[Through ICT] we intend to create new opportunities, encourage entrepreneurship, and, most importantly, provide our youth with the jobs and opportunities they deserve,” the speaker declared.
Alupo pointed out that ICT can assist Uganda become a significant participant in the area in addition to providing possibilities for the young of the nation.
She remarked, “I am delighted that the innovation and digital skills pillars of the Digital Transformation Roadmap address this issue.
We are doing more than just supporting integration by promoting our digital agenda; we are advancing it.
In an effort to hasten national growth, Alupo stated initiatives are being taken to guarantee that every element of the roadmap is completely incorporated into the upcoming National growth Plan (NDP IV).
Digitalization is the ink that will be used to write our future, she remarked, not just a chapter in our country’s history.
The five-year strategy (2023-2027) is anticipated to affect all facets of governance.
It is supported by five pillars: digital services, cyber security, data protection & privacy, digital skills, and innovation and entrepreneurship. The first pillar is digital infrastructure and connectivity.
The roadmap outlines the ‘how’ of Uganda’s transition to a fully digital society in line with the country’s Vision 2040.
The strategy, which has a five-year cycle, strives to provide a solid base for digital objectives while being flexible in reaction to technological changes.
